Materials & Gemstones
1. What is the difference between Silver and Gold-Plated Silver?
1. What is the difference between Silver and Gold-Plated Silver?
All options are made with 925 sterling silver as the base metal.
- Silver: Natural 925 sterling silver finish.
- Yellow Gold Plated: 925 sterling silver with a yellow gold-plated finish.
- Rose Gold Plated: 925 sterling silver with a rose gold-plated finish.
Please note that gold plating is not permanent and may gradually fade with regular wear, exposure to water, sweat, perfumes, or chemicals. This is considered normal wear and tear rather than a manufacturing defect.
Sterling silver may also naturally tarnish over time and can usually be restored with proper cleaning and care.
2. What should I know about wearing sterling silver jewellery?
2. What should I know about wearing sterling silver jewellery?
Sterling silver is naturally softer than gold or platinum, so fine scratches, surface marks, or slight deformation may occur with everyday wear, especially from friction, pressure, or impact.
For stone-set jewellery, deformation may affect the setting and cause the prongs to loosen, increasing the risk of stones becoming loose or falling out.
These are normal characteristics of sterling silver and are generally considered normal wear and tear rather than manufacturing defects. We recommend avoiding heavy pressure, impact, and contact with hard surfaces, and checking the setting regularly.
3. What gemstones do you use in your jewelry?
3. What gemstones do you use in your jewelry?
We use only high-quality gemstones in our jewelry, including Moissanite, lab-grown diamonds, and other ethically sourced stones. All gemstones are carefully selected for their brilliance and quality, ensuring that each piece is of the highest standard.
4. Do your coloured gemstones come with a certificate?
4. Do your coloured gemstones come with a certificate?
Not all coloured gemstones come with a certificate. Some of our gemstones are individually cut from rough material and therefore do not automatically include third-party certification.
If you require a certificate, we can arrange certification through an independent gemological laboratory for an additional fee. Please contact us before placing your order, as additional processing time may apply.
5. Are your Moissanite stones and diamonds certified?
5. Are your Moissanite stones and diamonds certified?
Yes, our Moissanite stones are carefully selected for their optical properties, and we offer IGI-certified lab-grown diamonds and GRA for Moissanite. Both are inspected to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality.
6. Is your gold solid gold or gold-plated?
6. Is your gold solid gold or gold-plated?
Our 9K, 14K and 18K gold jewellery is solid gold, not gold plated. For silver jewellery, Yellow Gold and Rose Gold options refer to 925 sterling silver with a gold-plated finish.
7. What is the difference between white gold and platinum?
7. What is the difference between white gold and platinum?
White gold and platinum are both popular choices for fine jewellery. Platinum is naturally white, denser and heavier, while white gold is a gold alloy commonly finished with rhodium plating to achieve its bright white appearance. Rhodium plating may require refreshing over time.
